The Standard & Poor�s SmallCap 600 Stock Price Index is a capitalization-weighted index representing some $375 billion in value as of July 31, 2002.  Index weights are proportionate to the current stock price multiplied by the number of shares outstanding.  The Index comprises some six hundred domestic equity components selected by S&P on the basis of their capitalization, liquidity and industrial sector representation.
